The successful candidate will join our incredible kitchen/cafeteria team to: 

  • Prepare and manage the deli and salad bar during lunch periods
  • Maintain a clean, presentable cafeteria by performing upkeep duties (sweeping, cleaning, etc.) as needed
  • Support the kitchen staff in related duties to provide outstanding customer service to our students, faculty, staff and guests

This position will be scheduled approximately 20 hours/week. Candidates must have open availability mornings through early afternoon. Act 32/33 clearances are required for this position. A high school diploma is preferred.

TITLE: HIGH SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE/HEALTH SERVICES ASSISTANT

General Description: The Administrative and Health Services Assistant reports to the school Assistant Principal/Principal and works collaboratively with the School Nurse*, who is assigned to the school by Mt. Lebanon School District and is the primary healthcare professional in the building. The Administrative and Health Services Assistant is responsible for working in an administrative support role to the school's administration. 

SALARY RANGE and BENEFITS: $29,000-$35,000 commensurate with experience, benefit options, some nights and weekends based on school events calendar, flexible summer hours.

NURSING KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, and SKILLS:

  • Organizes and maintains health office
  • Provides essential first aid for students, faculty, staff, and any persons that may be on school property
  • Dispenses medication following prescribed guidelines
  • Maintains a daily log (either electronically or on paper) of any student, faculty, or staff arriving in nurse's office along with phone calls made from the nurse's office
  • Is able to perform heavy lifting of objects - moving students - quick movements
  • Communicate appropriately, collaboratively, and effectively with students, parents, administrators, other school personnel, healthcare providers, and community agencies
  • Works with Mt. Lebanon School District School Nurse* to share information as needed.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets, receives, and directs students, staff, and school visitors in the main office.
  • Communicates with classrooms via intercom system for paging students and/or staff
  • Answers incoming phone calls, takes messages, directs calls as appropriate
  • Makes announcements as needed, often on-demand, when time-sensitive information needs to be communicated to students and faculty
  • Supports the principal and assistant principal in the preparation of documents, reports, and correspondence
  • Maintains current and accurate records according to school policy
  • Sorts and distributes mail and interoffice correspondence daily
  • Assists with the distribution of materials as needed
  • Updates PowerSchool as needed
  • Updates attendance and initiates daily calls/emails for those absent
  • Coordinates with busing companies for all transportation needs
  • Works with admissions and guidance to maintain PowerSchool database
  • Prepares paperwork for bulk mailing of newsletters to parents/students and postmark for mail pick-up
  • Organizes main office for safe and efficient operations
  • Coordinates general office operations as needed
  • Interacts with students in a professional manner
  • Manages student/family affairs in regard to general support services

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Tasks potentially involve exerting light physical effort involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials
  • Noise level is that of a typical school or office setting
  • This position requires staunch flexibility, as issues surrounding student, parent, and staff arise on a case-by-case basis and often require adapting schedules, solving problems, and settling conflicts
  • This employee may be required to: 
    • Manage high to moderate levels of emotions
    • Work a minimum of a full school day
    • Work in a standard office and school conditions
  • Due to the nature of this position, the employee is required to maintain composure and avoid inappropriate displays of emotion

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Healthcare CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • Current, active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse Licensure
  • Advanced computer knowledge
  • Preference of a graduate of a PA-approved nursing school/college/technical school
  • Pass/obtain clearances as required by Diocese and state

Conditions of Employment:

  • Possess and maintain appropriate CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • Maintain RN or LPN license status
  • Maintain current training and certifications as required by the state
  • Maintain and update as needed computer and clerical knowledge base
  • Adhere to the Diocesan Code of Conduct and agree to represent the teachings of the Catholic Church when instructing or advising students, families, or other employees

School Recommendations:

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in public health nursing, community health nursing, school health nursing or pediatric nursing preferred

*The School Nurse maintains student health records, coordinates and executes state required screenings, maintains emergency forms, etc.

Job Goal: To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success in a sportsmanlike manner. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence.

Qualifications: Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program. Has previous coaching experience in assigned sport. Has substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field. 

Supervised by: The athletic administrator, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation with the high school principal. 

The ideal candidates would have prior high school Varsity and/or College coaching experience; a focus on developing the student-athlete; strong leadership and communication skills; knowledge and experience with the college recruiting process; an understanding of running an effective off-season program; a commitment to building/maintaining a strong program that upholds the mission of our school in a manner that is consistent with our Catholic values.
